Spring has arrived! It's a wonderful season full of growth, beauty, and rebirth. A time where the world seems to wake up and shine out again in all its glorious splendor. As this new season of life unfolds, it can get busy and hard. There can be growing pains, but it all leads to future glory. God knows what He's doing. "And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28 ESV) Even if things are hard, overwhelming, stressful, busy, and troublesome right now, take heart. Your spring is coming.
As a note, I will be posting once every other week from this point onwards. I'm still growing and learning. It's okay to slow down, take a breath, and refocus. It's important not to be too busy. We need time to rest, time for peace, and time to focus on our God. Sometimes, it's okay to pull back to make that time. It doesn't mean you're not good enough or not strong enough. Sometimes it means knowing your limits and having the strength to admit it and work to remedy the problem.
In light of this, I'm taking a spring break from my normal posting today! Instead, here is a poem about the season of spring:
~ ~ ~
The first season’s a time for pleasure and play,
So much time for doing, not getting much done,
Skin tanned,
Calloused hand,
Hours of play in the sun.
But for joy there must be a time for grief,
Slow loss and bitter pain,
Outward death,
Earth slows its breath,
Let go for sweeter gain.
And then for days of quiet rest,
Colorless days and darkest sky,
Peaceful break
Wait to wake
The coldest days tick by
Then finally warmer wind blows,
The earth is stirred from sleep,
Melting ice
Warmth entice
Away for cold to creep
And then the song of awoken birds,
The air fills with thankful sound
Gentle sun
Seedlings sprung
Soft grass leaps forth from the ground
Remembering what it was like awake
New life and color appear
Buds flower
By the hour
For Spring is finally here
