Long Time No See (I'm Back!!)

Hello to my Dear Subscribers,

It’s been a year since my last blog post. A lot has happened. A lot has changed. I’ve learned and grown and struggled. God has been good and carried me through a lot. Life has been busy, as I’m sure it is for most peeps hitting those upper teen years. There’s so much adulting to struggle through and so much life to figure out as responsibility grows and doors open and decisions have to be made. It’s only the beginning, but new things are hard. I believe taking a break was a good decision for me. Now, by God’s grace, I’m more than ready to be back. So here’s my plan.

My goal is to post once a month beginning in the next week or two. This way I hopefully will have plenty of time to not just write but also edit my posts. Hopefully this way you all will be getting posts that are a bit more polished and thought out. I have a whole stash of ideas that I’ve been saving up for the past year. I can’t wait to get into all my ideas and share them with you! 💞

To cap off this post with something more fun, I realized that I never fully introduced myself. Yes, I have my fancy bio, but I think you all deserve an official introduction. 😉 Here’s a list of 10 things to know about me:

1. My name is Oceana (pronounced Oh-SHE-Ahh-nuh), my middle name is Rose, stick them together and that’s the pen name I’m using!

2. I am a Daughter of the One True King, Jesus Christ. I am nothing without Him. I’m still learning what it all means (aren’t we all?) and God is so unconditionally loving and gracious. ✝️❤️

3. I’m on the upper end of the teen years and just about to enter into my Senior year of high school!

4. I’m a dog person and have an adorable, dorky yellow labrador whom I love very much!

5. Writing (both fiction and nonfiction) is like breathing to me. Sometimes when life gets rough, I hold my breath, but it’s never for very long. The joy of creating stories, people, worlds, is like truly something special and a gift from my own Creator.

6. I’m a huge reader! Classics are my favorite, but if the book is well-written and pleasing to God, it doesn’t matter when it was written to me.

7. Some of my other random hobbies include: crocheting, piano playing, singing, listening to music, walking outside, cooking/baking, bullet journalling, drawing, and making tea.

8. My favorite season is summer! I love the heat and swimming and cold drinks and all extra time I get to spend with my friends!

9. My favorite color is purple! Which I guess is unsurprising, if you judge by my blog’s color scheme. 🤭

10. My favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 3:5-6. Favorite might be the wrong word, but it’s a verse that has spoken to my life for as long as I can remember and one I return to often to be reminded of my relationship with God. 💕
